Just got a new puppy who keeps digging out of the yard. Was able to find her 4 times already thanks to Tile. Conventional use, well maybe not but it has kept my puppy safe.

I can't figure out how to connect it with the app.

This is a really neat device. We purchased this specifically to put on our checked luggage for out last trip outside the country, and it worked very well.
As the description says, it uses Bluetooth to connect to the device, so it does have a limited range. This isn't a GPS device, meaning you will need to be within a 100 feet or so for it to work, but don't let that deter you. Tile is the most popular product in this niche market, meaning there are a lot of people out there with Tiles of their own, and if they have the Tile app, they can anonymously locate your Tile for you if they are nearby it - which works surprisingly well in a place such as an Airport where people are actively using Tiles.
So why 5 stars? Well here's my story. My wife and I recently traveled to the Bahamas on our Honeymoon. We flew Delta, and had a layover in Atlanta. On the way down, no issues - Tile made it easy when we got to the Bahamas to locate our bag on the carousel, and allowed us to get to Customs before everyone else. The true value of Tile was on the way back. We unfortunately got stuck in Atlanta for TWO DAYS due to a snow "storm". We landed in Atlanta around lunch, and our connecting flight to our final destination was delayed multiple times over 12 hours, then finally cancelled (along with 1,000 other flights). At that point, it was 1:00AM and all we wanted to do was get our checked bag that had all of our clothes, and find a hotel. Well, if it was only that simple... Delta was not allowing people to get their checked bags, and said that the bags would be forwarded along to our final destination at some point, most likely before we would get there. I could go on about how frustrating this was, but in the end Tile saved the day or at least relieved a lot of stress. Since Delta's operations essentially "rebooted" in Atlanta, tracking our bag on the Delta app was useless. When we arrived at the airport to catch our flight two days later, we spoke with Baggage and they said that they didn't know where our bag was. We checked the Tile app multiple times, with no luck on locating it - not surprising because a lot of the bags are held in their storage facility which is away from the terminal, away from Tile users. About 30 minutes before we boarded the plane to our final destination, the gate attendant told us that our bag was already at our home airport and arrived the day before. At this point, nothing on the Tile app, and the Delta app wasn't showing any updates. This news was a little bit of a relief, but at the same time stressful thinking that it's just sitting on the carousel in our airport waiting to be stolen. Fast forward to us sitting on the plane waiting to take off... all of a sudden I get a notification from my Tile app saying that my luggage has been located! Wouldn't you know, it was located exactly at my current location - what does this mean? It was on the plane with me! What a huge relief... Tile is a great product... we landed at our home airport and then the Tile came out on the carousel playing it's little tune and we were on our way home. I want to point out that when the luggage hit the carousel, our bag didn't come out at first - it actually came out about 15 minutes after the rest of the bags for some reason. If we didn't have the Tile app, we wouldn't have known to look for it on the carousel, and if we did, we would have likely walked away to go find Baggage causing more confusion.
This isn't the end for our Tile... we will use it again while traveling, but in the mean time we put it on our cat's collar - he's notorious for "escaping" our house... Haven't had to use it to find him, but if he does escape, it will hopefully help.
Stop thinking - just buy one - they are cheap and extremely useful. Battery lasts a year then you need to buy a new one, but I've spent more money on lunch in a single day - who cares!

Unbelievably easy to use with app and it's like magic that I can find anything with a Elfi Tile on it. I've even purchased another 4 because I lose everything and another set for my older sister.
What prompted my purchase? I was in an accident and had a rental car. I went shopping got home unloaded everything and went to bed. Got up the next morning and NO rental car keys. I looked high and low. I remember bringing them in the house but I couldn't find them. Had to call Hertz, they sent a tow truck (they didn't have a spare key), went with the tow truck to a central Hertz location to return the car and get another one. This took about 3 hours. But don't blame Hertz - they were great. I had to pay $280 for the key fob. UGH!
So it's the day I have to return the car. I had to get all my bags out of the trunk to put in the house and low and behold! The key fell out of one of the bags. At least I didn't have to pay the $280
Now lost car, house, shed, storage keys, purses and wallets are a thing of the past. If you miss place things or lose them get a Tile NOW. The BEST thing? Put one on your phone and when you misplace the phone the app will have your phone ring. Amazing

My mother resides in a Nursing Home, She often misplaces her hearing aids. She tends to hide them places. So I bought a Tile Mate, and attached to a cord which we use to hold her hearing aids together. Basically just an eye-glass cord. I secured the Tile with a small cable tie, and also added a metal badge clip to attach to her clothing. About a week ago mom lost her hearing aids. I went over to the Nursing Home, and opened up the app, and sure enough, it detected them nearby. I pressed the find me link on the phone and the chime began sounding off. I opened up a drawer and could hear the chime loudly, but didn't see the hearing aids. Picked up a little bag with a necklace in it, and the sound followed the bag. Sure enough, the hearing aids were in there. Success. Well, she misplaced them again today, and they were not nearby. Have not located them yet, but on the lookout using the notification feature. Also notified the staff about the problem.
Update: Mom's hearing aids "found" with help of the Elfi Tile. Returned to search for her hearing aids last Thursday, some suggested I look in the laundry area, so I opened up the app and while I was walking down the aisle the app, came alive with the Found flashing like crazy, I turned on the find me to activate the tiles chimes, and a lady in the laundry came running out with the hearing aids. Success again!

We are happy with our Tiles after one month- put one on each key ring and they are working. You don't need one on your phone because you download the Tile app and it will buzz your phone when you press the tile on your keys. (I wrote a review that posted to the tile adhesive and i intended it for the Tiles. We found the adhesive not to be necessary.)

I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a cat GPS that looked way too big for a cats neck. I adopted a new cat and was afraid he might wander too far. I can track him while I'm at home and make sure he stays in the area. If he goes out of range, I can walk the neighborhood and find him.

For 25 years I have helped my husband look for his wallet. EVERY DAY. No matter what system I tried to introduce him to, what basket was on the counter just for his wallet...was a dismal failure. EVERY DAY FOR 25 YEARS. I gave this tile to him for Christmas. It has been the best two months of my life.
